National Hot Dog Eating Contest
August 9, 2008 – 2:42 pmOn the Fourth of July, Joey Chestnut, won the 2008 official Nathan’s hot dog eating contest. He did so by eating 60 hot dogs in 10 minutes. The actual competition was a tie, but he was fast enough to beat out Takeru Kobayaski, in the five hot dog tiebreaker. This is Joeys’s second consecutive win.
In eating contests, such as this one, whatever is in a contestants mouth at the sound of the bell is counted toward his total consumption. Nothing like inhaling hot dogs on a hot summer day!
It makes you wonder how much money Joey spends on his grocery bill, doesn’t it? No doubt he buys ketchup and mustard by the gallon.
