Simpsons Movie Parodies
July 7, 2008 – 4:28 pmIf you are a tried and true fan of the Simpsons, you are probably familiar with some of the movie parodies the writers have included in the show. But did you know there have been at least 40 movies or other popular shows that have inspired them?
They include blockbuster movies such as Cape Fear, Silence of the Lambs, Risky Business, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Clockwork Orange, Jaws, The Birds and Phycho.
Some of these parodies consist of one or two short scenes, while others are much more involved… even to the point that more of the episode revolves around it. Most fans will probably agree that the second type is the best.
Some scenes from television shows have found their way to the Land of Bart, as well. They include: Love American Style, Night Gallery and even the Road Runner and the Grinch Stole Christmas.
More recent parodies include this one from American Idol. Has Simon finally met his match?
